Open source contributions
We often rely on open-source libraries to make your scientific software work. The SSC strives to give back to the open-source community by publishing open source.
Often during development work we find ourselves implementing functionality that could be reused in other projects if it was packaged as an independent library, or adding a feature or extension to some existing open source software that other people could also find useful.
When feasible we try to make this work available and usable by others as open source software, and in this way contribute to the open source community that indirectly supports so much of our work by providing and maintaining the open source tools and libraries that our projects depend on.
